CNN Greece: The success of the 1st Thessaloniki Investment Forum

The 1st Thessaloniki Investment Forum, organised by CNN Greece in collaboration with TME (Tourism Media & Events), was successfully held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. The forum, which was also live streamed on CNN.gr, highlighted Thessaloniki and Northern Greece as key players in the development of Southeastern Europe and served as a key reference point for the business and investment community.

The event was greeted by the Deputy Minister of Macedonia-Thrace, Kostas Gkioulekas, the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Stelios Angeloudis and the Deputy Regional Governor of Macedonia, Nikolaos Tzollas. During the forum, speeches were also delivered by the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Elena Raptis and the Secretary General of International Economic Affairs, Dimitris Skalkos.

The first panel focused on developments in the infrastructure, energy, retail and logistics sectors that are establishing the region as an investment hub, with emphasis on the role of financing. The second panel highlighted the initiatives that make Northern Greece an attractive year-round tourist destination, while the third panel showcased the technological advancements and the innovative potential of Thessaloniki.

The 1st Thessaloniki Investment Forum was held with the support of the National Bank of Greece, D. Masoutis, Noisis, and Thriassio Logistics Centre, and was placed under the aegis of the Federation of Northern Greece Enterprises (SVE) and the Region of Central Macedonia.
