CNN Insights on Tourism Development, Investments and Sustainability
The prospects of development, investments and the sustainability “challenge” regarding tourism were the main topics discussed during the CNN Insights event, held on Monday, June 17, at the "Konstantinos Michalos" Entrepreneurship Centre. The event was co-organized by CNN Greece and the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), with the generous support of Athens International Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos)
The President of ACCI, Sofia Kounenaki Efremoglou, delivered the opening speech, while the keynote speaker was the Minister of Tourism, Olga Kefalogianni, who through a prerecorded message discussed the data, challenges, and prospects of Greek tourism. On his side, the Secretary General of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), Dimitris Fragakis, highlighted the prospects of Greek tourism, the opportunities and challenges that arise, and the role of GNTO in its international promotion.
Furthermore, during the event, institutional officers and high-ranking executives from businesses and organisations in the tourism sector discussed the current situation regarding the prospects, sustainability and competitiveness of Greek tourism, as well as the challenge of extending the tourist season.
Specifically, participating in the discussion were:
- Konstantinos Deriziotis, Member of the ACCI Board of Directors, Publisher of MONEY & TOURISM
- Grigoris Tasios, President of the Halkidiki Hotel Association
- Marina Spyridaki, Director of Corporate Affairs and Communications of AEGEAN
- Alexandros Thanos, Appointed Consultant of SETE (Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises)
